RVDA
RVDA (Reinier van der Aart, 1975) is a professional photographer since 2005 and creates his images under the name RVDA. Commissions from i.a. the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Kunsthal and institutions such as Louis Vuiton and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds gave him the opportunity to portray internationally renowned icons such as Damien Hirst, Anselm Kiefer, Thierry Mugler, Peter Lindbergh, Mario Testino, sir Paul Smith and Sophia Loren. Art commissions, both portrait and non-portrait, are also given by private collectors. RVDA is not so much searching for a distinctive signature in style as he is searching for ways how to capture and to show what he wants to tell the best way possible. Whether that is in his so beloved penetrating black and white or in soft colors, in duo-tones or in the colors of the old Dutch masters.. The story is leading.
RVDA’s work has been published in i.a. VOGUE (Paris, Russia, Netherlands, Espana, Turkey), L’Officiel (Russia, Netherlands), Oyster Magazine (Australia), Frame (UK), The Observer (UK), London Fashion week Magazine (UK), i-D (UK) and MiraMira (site of Mario Testino) and articles on his work have been published in/on i.a. CCAA, DIGIFOTO Pro and VOGUE.
